Renowned for its enchanting fragrances and its centuries-old know-how, the Pays de Grasse shines far beyond the city of Grasse alone. Behind its idyllic landscapes and hilltop villages lies a more complex reality: the isolation of many hamlets and neighborhoods, a consequence of a steep terrain and an extensive territory that complicates access to public transport.
Extending over nearly 490 km², the Pays de Grasse brings together 23 municipalities with contrasting profiles, from dynamic urban areas such as Grasse and Mouans-Sartoux to mountain villages in the Haut Pays such as Andon and Séranon. Marked by its steep reliefs and majestic panoramas, this territory is home to nearly 100,000 inhabitants. This geographic diversity also poses daily challenges for travel, especially in rural and remote areas. The remoteness and aging of the population create the need for adapted transport services.
To respond to this, the Communauté d'Agglomération du Pays de Grasse has focused on on-demand transport with the deployment of Sillage à la Demande in partnership with Moventia.
Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT) is a flexible and personalized service that allows users to book a trip in advance or in real time from a point of departure to a specific destination. Unlike fixed regular lines, itineraries are adapted according to reservations, thus optimizing trips to offer a more flexible and accessible service.
The service operates 7 days a week with extended hours (from 5 am to 9 pm for DRT and from 6 am to 8 pm for PMR vehicles) and relies on the Padam Mobility platform to guarantee fluidity and performance. Thanks to its intelligent algorithm, the Padam Mobility tool groups trips, limits detours and adjusts routes in real time, thus allowing faster and more comfortable trips for users.
Drivers have a dedicated application that provides them with a clear overview of the races to be completed, integrating advanced navigation tools for efficient and accurate care.
Passengers, for their part, easily book their trips via the user application or the reservation site, and receive real-time notifications about the arrival of their vehicle or any adjustments in case of delay.
Finally, the operator monitors and manages the entire service thanks to an ergonomic management interface that offers a complete vision of trips and reservations, thus facilitating daily operation and the quality of the service provided.
Sillage à la Demande was designed to meet the needs of everyone, including people with reduced mobility. The service offers specific functionalities, such as the reservation of trips for wheelchair users, the possibility of recurring trips and a reservation interface in accordance with RGAA V4.1 accessibility standards.
By strengthening the links between peripheral districts, urban centers and major transport routes, Sillages à la Demande contributes to the attractiveness of the territory and to social inclusion. This new offer also contributes to the ecological transition, by reducing the number of vehicles in circulation and by promoting shared journeys.
The service is part of the dynamics of the Communauté d'Agglomération du Pays de Grasse to modernize transport infrastructures and meet the challenges of a territory that is at once tourist, rural and peri-urban.
