Facing many challenges, the autonomous community of Extremadura (junta de Estremadura) is committed to developing several projects to improve the mobility of its citizens, especially in the rural part of its territory.

Faced with a geographical and demographic complexity due to the size of its rural areas and the low density of its population, the autonomous community has decided to experiment with DRT in the rural outskirts of the cities of Badajoz and Caceres. For this purpose, it has trusted the solutions of Padam Mobility which will be deployed for a period of 8 months under the brand TADEX. The service will be deployed in the first days of October 2021 in the rural areas of the cities of Badajoz and Caceres. The service will operate from Monday to Friday:

  • In Badajoz (operator: Damas Extremadura) in the areas of Esparragosa de Lares-Badajoz, Villanueva de la Serena-Mérida, Cáceres-Cabeza del buey, Vivares-Villanueva de la Serena, Cabeza del Buey- Don Benito Sancti Espíritu-Cáceres.
  • In Cáceres (operator: Solís Autocares), in the areas of Albalá-Trujillo and Ibahernando-Torremocha.

The experimentation will take place in four stages:
1. Design of the service and validation of the

specifications (1 month).
2. Deployment of the service and training of the teams

(2 months).
3. Launch of the service (1 month)

4. Implementation and maintenance of the service (8 months).
